What Is a Zine? A Fun and Creative Way to Tell Your Story!
Have you ever wanted to create your own magazine filled with the things you love? That's exactly what a zine can be! A zine (pronounced "zeen") is a small, handmade magazine that allows you to express yourself, share your ideas, tell your story, and showcase your creativity.

Unlike traditional magazines that large companies create, zines are personal. They are all about YOU, your interests, your artwork, your hobbies, your dreams, your favorite things, and the stories you want to tell.
One of the things I love most about zines is that there are no rules. You can fill them with drawings, photographs, poems, journal entries, inspirational quotes, collages, fashion ideas, recipes, crafts, or anything else that makes you happy.
This summer, I'll be teaching my students how to create their very own zines step-by-step. It's a wonderful way for young creators to build confidence, develop storytelling skills, and learn how to express themselves through art and design.
I'm also bringing you along for the journey on my YouTube channel! My newest zine tutorial series will show you exactly how to create your own zine from start to finish. Instead of overwhelming you with the entire project at once, we'll take it one step at a time. We'll start with designing the cover and then create one to two pages at a time so you can easily follow along and build your zine at your own pace.
Did you know there is an entire community of people around the world who love making zines? Zine creators often share, sell, trade, and swap their zines with others. Some people create zines as a hobby, while others use them to build businesses, share important messages, or connect with people who have similar interests.
The best part? You don't need expensive supplies or special equipment to get started. Just a piece of paper, your imagination, and something to create with.
